Green Knitting- pt. 1

I’ve been looking into some ways I can reduce the waste I use on a daily basis. Yarn crafts have really helped me in reducing my anxiety, so why not tackle both of these at the same time?

Some of the ideas I’ve come up with are:

  • face rounds
  • grocery bags (including smaller bags for produce)
  • napkins/towels

If anyone has any other ideas, I’d love to hear them!

So far I’ve gotten around to making some face rounds. I used 100% cotton yarn and a 5.5mm crochet hook. In addition to reducing waste, I hope this will help encourage me to wash my face more often (or ever really…). Still working out the pattern; I’m not sure how I feel about the puff-stitch for this one.

Spring Knits

Most of the patterns I make are for fall/winter… a lot of chunky yarns, thick scarves, etc… SO I want to expand into some spring/summer patterns in an effort to expand my shop!

I worked up this Vintage Knit Tie Headband pattern and it’s super cute! I edited it slightly by not sewing the ends together so it can be tied looser or tighter. This was made on size US 8 needles with Loops & Threads Colorwheel yarn in Mauve and I am in love with it:

This yarn is incredibly soft and I plan to make these in every possible color *heart eyes*

A couple of other projects for the warmer weather include a halter-tank top and a crochet bralette top… if anyone has any other favorite spring/summer patterns, I’d love to see them!
